hopefully, you won’t hold this against me
I’ve been missing in blog action these past couple of weeks and while I wish my absence was the result of my life suddenly showing signs of, well, life, my reasons are mostly related to the addictive nature of “Beverly Hills, 90210” and the fact that my coworker lent me the entire first season on DVD. Fortunately, the shame I feel is lessened by my sister’s equally inexplicable excitement over the arrival of said DVD and the way she feels similarly compelled to KEEP WATCHING DAMMIT even though she knows she’s seen enough.
In all fairness (to myself), my usually somewhat consistent posting has also been interrupted by eleven-hour work days and the presence of my too-long-gone, in-from-out-of-town friend, Saren, who was visiting from Chicago for much of this past week. So, in addition to watching an embarrassing sixteen episodes of “90210” in a span of eight days, I’ve also managed to be surprisingly social on several recent occasions—a feat of which I am, perhaps, a little too proud.
Seven episodes remain as yet unviewed. I am eagerly anticipating the loss of Brenda’s virginity on Prom night, after which I will resume my regularly scheduled posting while secretly mourning the end of the first season and pining away for the second—which has yet to be released on DVD. Thanks for bearing with me.
